Taya is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern who works with individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children navigating anxiety, trauma, identity development, relationship challenges, and life transitions. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University and earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Utah.
Taya believes that healing happens through connection. Our relationships with ourselves, our families, and our communities shape who we are and influence how we experience the world. When these relationships feel strained or overwhelming, therapy can provide a space to rediscover balance, hope, and understanding. She approaches therapy from a collaborative, strengths-based, and systemic perspective, recognizing that meaningful change often occurs within the context of our relationships.
Before beginning her journey as a therapist, Taya spent over nine years working with autistic children and adults, individuals in foster care, and people living with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. These experiences deepened her appreciation for each person's unique story and strengthened her belief in every individual's capacity for resilience, growth, and connection.
Taya strives to create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. She is passionate about helping clients build on their strengths, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they move toward healing and the life they want to create.
Outside of work, Taya enjoys cooking, traveling, playing with her puppy, and expressing her creativity through coloring.
Taya sees clients at our Taylorsville office and throughout Utah via telehealth.
