Kyh (they/she) is a spirited intern pursuing their Master's in Social Work at the University of Utah. They work with teens, emerging adults, and older clients on issues stemming from anxiety, trauma, C-PTSD, self-harm, ADHD, autism, adoption-related stress, and depression. With deep ties to neurodivergent and LGBTQIA2S+ communities, Kyh supports clients facing minority stress and navigating environments not built with them in mind.
Their therapeutic style is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed-integrating knowledge of trauma and its effects on daily life. They believe therapy is teamwork, and prioritize authentic connection, mutual respect, and adapting sessions to client needs, preferences, and values.
With experience in behavioral therapy and suicide support facilitation, Kyh helps clients explore what drives them, how change happens, and what fosters healing. They also offer support around sexual wellness, intimacy, spirituality, faith transitions, and religious trauma.
Kyh incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build mindfulness, manage emotions, tolerate distress, and improve communication. They draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore and harmonize parts of the self and encourage creative expression as a tool for understanding identity and emotional exploration. Sessions may also include activities, resources, and client feedback to ensure therapy feels uniquely yours. They are also training to offer EMDR and will notify clients when this becomes available.
