Shadie is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) intern from Utah Valley University, where she is currently completing her master's degree. She also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from UVU. Shadie is passionate about creating a space where clients feel safe, seen, and genuinely accepted. She strives to foster an environment grounded in authenticity, kindness, and self-compassion where individuals can show up as they are, without pressure to have everything figured out. She understands that opening up can feel vulnerable and works to create a calm, welcoming presence where clients feel at ease exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
When working with clients, Shadie utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Shadie works collaboratively with clients to build practical skills, increase self-awareness, and move toward meaningful, values-based change. She believes clients are the experts of their own lives and aims to support them as they create lasting growth.
Shadie enjoys working with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, perfectionism, OCD, sports and performance anxiety, grief, and trauma-related concerns. She has a special interest in working with athletes and high performers, offering a supportive space to explore the pressures of performance while building confidence, resilience, and self-compassion. She brings a compassionate and steady presence to the therapeutic relationship and is committed to helping clients feel both supported and capable.
Outside of the office, Shadie enjoys attending sporting events with her spouse, spending time with family by the pool, reading romance novels, and learning how to grill and smoke meat like a pro.
Shadie sees clients at our Provo and Pleasant Grove offices, as well as via telehealth with clients throughout Utah.
