Stephanie Nixon, LCSW, is a graduate of Brigham Young University’s Master of Social Work program and an ASWB Board Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker. While at BYU, Stephanie gained skills to help those impacted by trauma and earned a certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). During her graduate training she completed internships at LDS Family Services and in the crisis department at Wasatch Behavioral Health.

Stephanie is trained as a Compassionate Bereavement Care Certified Provider (CBCCP) specifically for traumatic grief and loss. Her goal is to help the bereaved find deeper personal peace and increased emotional well-being after tragedies such as accidents, cancer, the loss of a spouse or child, miscarriage, and other traumatic life experiences. Her focus for relief and wellness is a faith-based, Christian perspective.

As a therapist, Stephanie works from several approaches and does her best to tailor therapy to meet her clients’ personalities, needs, and goals for therapy. She works with clients struggling with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, marital conflict, and challenges in parenting and adolescence. Her primary practices include EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), EFT (emotionally focused therapy), Gottman method couples therapy, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), and attachment focused therapy.

Stephanie has been married for 31 years to her sweetheart and they have five children, three in-law children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, she loves to bike ride with her husband, play games with her family, work in her yard and sew.
