Calie Adams

Because good therapists have helped me on my journey through navigating difficult life experiences, I have the opportunity and privilege to “pay it forward” and help others navigate through their own journeys.

I graduated with a master’s degree in social work from the University of Utah in 2023. I have close to twenty years of experience as a social service worker, having worked for eleven years with youth and families in crisis, and most recently with adults experiencing incarceration, homelessness, substance abuse, and trauma.

I am working toward specializing in the treatment of trauma and am currently certified in the modality of Mind-Body Bridging, a mindfulness-based therapeutic intervention. I also have training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).

I am always looking to improve my skills and knowledge base and am in the process of being trained in EMDR. I work with individual clients 16 and older and address issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, and other various mental health concerns. I love all the animals, especially my two cats, and wouldn’t be opposed to adopting every animal ever! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, doodling, and coloring, traveling, and marveling at the moon. I love quotes, one of my favorites being from Maya Angelou: “if you’re always trying to be normal, you’ll never know how amazing you can be.”
