Janie Coon

Janie Coon is a Certified Social Worker who received her Bachelor of Social Work from Brigham Young University-Idaho and her Master of Social Work degree from Boise State University.

Janie is passionate about helping others and finding meaningful connections with people. She values the dignity and worth of all and she believes that everyone deserves to live a full and happy life. Her goal as a therapist is to create a safe and comfortable place for everyone who comes into her office.

She considers her approach to be client centered and attachment focused. Janie is trained in EMDR and uses other modalities such as CBT, ACT, Solution Focused and more. Janie has a passion for working with underrepresented communities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. Janie also is passionate about working with clients who have chronic illness, specifically those with type one diabetes as Janie is a type one diabetic herself.

With experience in adoption, juvenile corrections, probation and healthcare, Janie has found herself working as a therapist because she truly enjoys the meaningful connections and growth that can come from this kind of work. Janie grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and loves to travel, cook and spend time with her husband. She has traveled to 13 countries and hopes to see all 50 states one day!
